Healthy Buildings International Pty Ltd (HBI) provides indoor air, materials assessment, and water quality inspection and monitoring services. Indoor air quality services include air quality evaluations, occupational monitoring, odour response, plant and HVAC equipment inspections, and NABERs audit and assessor services. Materials assessment includes building audits for asbestos, lead, PCBs, and ozone depleting substances. Water services include potable and cooling tower water quality checks, and building risk assessments for Legionella hot spots.
Our aims are to assist Clients to be proactive thus avoiding or reducing complaints from building occupants and to diagnose problems or perceived problems for those Clients who, through circumstance, are compelled to be reactive.
Established in Sydney in 1987 and majority Australian owned, HBI provides the above services, as well as a range of broader environmental consulting services to many of Australia’s leading property owners and managers, infrastructure companies, project managers and governments. Our Client list includes Local, State and Federal Government departments, insurance companies, banks, universities, real estate companies, major shopping centres and other large commercial and industrial concerns across the continent. HBI also provides services from our Sydney base to Clients in New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
A major feature of HBI’s service is that we retain our independence from organisations which supply product, installation, maintenance or cleaning services. This allows Clients to objectively assess environmental conditions within their properties or facilities free from any added pressure to purchase some extra service.
HBI provides expert advice and when unavoidable, testimonies to assist Clients avoid potentially damaging litigation.
HBI is autonomous but retains regular contact with other companies in the HBI Group. This gives HBI ready access to the very latest developments in technology from America and Europe, including those associate with green buildings such as LEED and BREAM.
HBI is a Member of the International Society for the Built Environment (ISBE), the Facility Managers Association and Standards Australia and has provided technical advisory services to these organisations. We also have membership on the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists
Our dedicated project and management staff come from a range of disciplines, principally engineering and science, and our policy is to only out-source analytical work to National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (NATA) registered laboratories or their overseas equivalents.
We carry professional indemnity, public liability, motor vehicle and workers compensation insurances.
